Can you ever imagine being prime minister once well think about being prime minister twice because that’s what Pierre Elliott Trudeau accomplished. He was born on october 18 1919.He grew up in a wealthy family in montreal. He was a very lucky man and his dad sold his gas station to an oil company. The year is 1919 no cell phones,no television,no Ipad life would be very different.
He is the second child of three children his siblings are Suzette Trudeau and Charles Jr.He had a very lucky childhood since his father was a lawyer and a businessman in Montreal. He made many sacrifices to Canada. His kids are Justin Trudeau,Michel Trudeau,Alexandre Trudeau,Sarah Elizabeth Coyne. Criminals would still be walking our streets, if it weren’t for Pierre Trudeau.
He introduced criminal law in 1967, so criminals he the right punishment for their crime.Pierre also, signed the patriation with queen Elizabeth ll which means Canada’s laws don’t need the approval of the Britain. He also won the Albert Einstein peace prize is for important people who disagree with nuclear weapons. He was a good man but but unfortunately he was diagnosed with parkinson’s disease. Pierre Elliott Trudeau faced many challenges one in particular was almost impossible to escape. He was diagnosed with prostate cancer and he denied the treatment because he didn’t want to lose his memory.
Pierre thought the mind is a very important piece because you can’t recreate memories. This is also very unfortunate, because he also was diagnosed with parkinson’s disease a few years before. He had a rough elderly life also he started public lotteries.
There are so many people on the news winning the lottery. That is just one of the good ideas Pierre had.In 1969 the first lottery started in Canada which made a big impact to canadian lives.
Also,he removed laws on abortion which gives them a choice and removed laws on homosexuality so you can be whatever you want.If you never knew Pierre Trudeau is Justin Trudeau’s dad.Pierre did many good things to Canada while he was prime minister but sometimes good things come to an end. Pierre Elliott Trudeau was a brave and noble man even in his days of retirement.Pierre died on September 28 2000 in Montreal he died from prostate cancer, this was a very sad day for all canadians.Pierre’s life taught us life is made up of precious moments and those moments are the ones you cherish forever. What we can learn from Pierre is it doesn’t matter who you are or what you want to be it’s what you become. In my opinion I think he was a man who wanted world peace and a solution to all problems.
