Dive Response

This adaptation allows the animal to only send oxygenated blood to only vital body parts. This reflex is due to the vasoconstriction of brickyard, panel, and peripheral (Gook’s r). Small tuber-ware containers were filled with water to conduct the tests. Some containers held room temperature water, while others contained cold water. Initial resting heart rate was taken while sitting. The subject then bent over to immerse their face into the room temperature water. While immersed, heart rate was monitored to record any changes.
