Effects of Counseling

Counseling Programs Salary (2005) states that “most counseling approaches used in counselor education programs focus on problems, thus implying that something is wrong with the client. Rather than being “costumers” of counseling, they come as visitors, usually honoring either a request or an ultimatum, and therefore do not commit themselves to the process” (up. 2-3). Believed to have the mastery at collecting, analyzing, and using data to measure the success of plans or methods and interventions formed to cost students and the school community, counselors are indeed the one we need.

Counselors must develop necessary acts that lift, speed up, and advertise the smooth growth of students to the next level of education. Students need facilitation with setting objectives, developing study and time management skills, accomplishing high- level academic courses, and accessing the academic skills necessary to become self- reliant learners. School counselors must certify that their affairs play a critical role in the academic growth and accomplishment of students and guide the overall school session.

Even when counseling sessions are limited to 30 minutes or less, it still shows positive results. Counseling does help schools and students a lot. Studies support these actions, specifically the positive results counselors have made. With different types of counseling programs, it wouldn’t be difficult for schools and its students reaching the goal they’re aiming. Counselors indeed provide assistance and support not only for students, but also for the community they are in.
