This is why people always make sure that they hose the best among the choices that are set for them. Each person in the community experiences this kind of dilemma. All senior high school students are expected to move into a higher level of education. In this point of their lives they are the one who will choose the career path that they will take. Career path taking is a process of choosing the best course that will develop one’s ability. It involves wise thinking and good decision making.

We noticed that they found a hard time in dealing with this matter.Most of them were undecided because they are somewhat afraid that they might know no one in the university that they will enter. Some considered the quality and expertise of the school. Most of our schoolmates chose the university that are popular and guaranteed in producing excellent students, while others chose a university that is the same as their friends’. In connection to this, our schoolmates also struggled in choosing the course they will take. Many of them remained undecided because they don’t know what they really wanted to be.These were the reasons why we decided to conduct a research about the different factors affecting the decision making of seniors batch 2012-2013, particularly upon choosing the right course for them.

Selecting a course is naturally hard especially when one is not sure of what she really wants. It is a method of calculating one’s ability in which she knows will make up her interest and will make her successful in the future. We noticed that our schoolmates find it really hard to choose the course that they will take.They asked the help and opinions of their parents and schoolmates but it did not help them. It took them a long period of time to decide which course was right for them. And we observed that that the course they chose was the same as their friend’s course, or if not it was somehow related to their classmate’s.

This was the usual scene that we witnessed. We conducted this research to further know how the seniors make their own decisions in life. We are decided to find out the things they consider and the standards they set for the choices they make.This research will also show how the seniors handle the pressure of making a good decision which will bring them into the path of their career. The mentality of the seniors batch 2010-2013 will also be tackled for it is one of the essential aid that makes up a person’s mind.

And lastly, this research will help others to carry out a wise decision when they are in the same situation. II. Statement of the Problem Decisions are part of the responsibilities in life. You cannot go through life trying to limit the amount of decisions you make. Behind every decision made, there is a problem that should be solved.

The way the problem was stated, it automatically framed what would be the result of the decision made. It determined the alternatives needed to be considered and how it would be evaluated. The decisions made can greatly affect what will happen in the future.

So, it would be very important to know how to make a wise decision in every situation. Decision making is affected by a wide variety of factors. Every person or a group has different characteristics that dictate how one makes their decisions. Everyone commit mistakes, and everyone make bad decisions.In this research, we can find out what are the factors that can affects one’s decision, how can these factors affect the decision making, and what are the things that should be considered in making a decision.

This research is focused mainly about how a person’s career choice was influenced by different factors such as bandwagon. Ill. Theoretical and Conceptual Framework The theoretical framework is used to investigate the influential factors ( independent arable ) that may contribute to the decision making of the Seniors of ISM Metropolis ’12-’13 on their career ( dependent variable ).IV. Significance of Study The result of this research study will provide information as well as explanations regarding the factors that affect the decision making of the 4th year students in taking their career path. Among the persons who will directly or indirectly benefit in this study are the following: that often affect their decision regarding their career. Through understanding these better, they will be able to choose a rightful course that would suit them the most.

To the undergraduates of ISM.This will help them decide the course they want to take in advance while taking into consideration how the factors explained in this study will affect their decision someday. To the teachers. Our research could enable them to have a better understanding about their students which will guide them as they give advice to the future generations who’ll someday make a great decision about their career. To the family of the students. Once the students successfully choose the best course for them, they would have a regular Job someday. Their income will help them support the needs of their family.

To the college universities. This study will help them accept student whose abilities are suited for the course they take. Furthermore, having those students would help them develop their reputation as a good university.

V. Scope and Limitations The study focused on the different factors that affect the decisions about which career path to take of the senior students from Immaculate Conception School of Mallows school year 2012-2013. The respondents of this study were made up of the seniors of ISM, consisting of 63 students, which is 23-24% of total number of the population.
