First, thoughts and beliefs, rather than to their

First, we should be clear of what
critical thinking represent. Critical thinking is a discipline that questions
and challenges our prevailing system of management. It contests our
presumptions and presuppositions, prejudices and biases. It thwarts our
assumptions and generalizations about any general incidence. In short, it
forces us to think out of the box.

Spirituality or Dharma is when right
things are done rightly and for the right reasons or intentions. Take for
example the case of rising pollution level in Delhi. The Chief Minister Mr.
Arvind Kejriwal took a historical decision to introduce a new concept of
driving in the capital –i.e. the use of odd-even cars based on the last digit
of the vehicle. This illustrates a right action taken for the right thing at
the right time. Banning of vehicles with use of more than 20 years is a right
action done in order to safeguard our future generation from harmful effects of
global warming.

Being spiritual means that a person’s
views are related to their thoughts and beliefs, rather than to their bodies
and physical surroundings. In every cultured society there are certain rules
that govern its subject these rules are based on moral aspect of society, that
later on form a part of law. In a traditional society, laws have never had a
very controlling character, but religion, spirituality and morality had always
had a very predominant role. However, in a modern society life changes very fast,
hence morality and religion are under a great pressure. Hence, spirituality is
the only alternative to human development.

The latest misfortune of bus tumble
in which 23 people died after the driver lost control and the bus fell down 300
feet, was the inevitable consequence of prolonged neglect of urban public
transport and human negligence in India. The heart of transport of India and
the financial capital depends mainly on the Roadways, which has some of the
highest passenger densities for any transport system in the world. Yet, it has
no single accountable manager. The decision making was poor and it struck open
the impact of what a critical thinker could have possible done to avoid such a
situation. The right things were not in place at the right time forget about
doing the right things rightly.

Spiritual Intelligence is the critical
intelligence. It delivers the person with a general perception regarding life
and all the experiences and events and makes him capable of re-formulating and
interpreting his experiences and to extend his recognition and knowledge about
all the experiences yet to experience. It is one of the new concepts of
intelligence comprises a type of adaptableness and behaviour of problem solving
which has the maximum levels of progress in different domains of cognitive,
moral, emotional and interpersonal.

Critical
thinking as spiritual intelligence –

High intelligence quotient is not sufficient
in today’s era. A person must have equally well developed emotional and
spiritual intelligence to cut above the rest. Take for example the chief of
Mumbai Railways Transportation. Did he have enough Intelligence quotient? Well yes,
he might have had, that is why he rose the ranks to take that position. However,
I doubt about the spiritual intelligence in him. If he had some then he would
have taken some measure to make a preventive step, which would be a right
decision at the right time. At least he would be morally wrong. Though I am not
blaming him, it is just a notion in typical government organizations that they
are not futuristic in comparison to a corporate leader of such responsibility.

Each of us has certain strengths
and natural styles. Intelligence Quotient, which measures rational thought
abilities, is considered a critical ‘trait’ for leadership.  IQ associated
learning is systematic rule based learning.  To be successful, you do not
have to be the smartest person in the room, but you have to be smart enough.

Input

Input is everything we command to embed
in a system for some type of use. Every input has a purpose – but until it is
processed and generated in some form of output, it does not do us much good. The
part during which a railway station is built, it needs to be appropriately
planned. A modification of sources is used to input keyboard, scanner,
microphone, mouse, even another computer.

Numerous individuals who experience
homosexual feelings are unhappy or conflicted about them due to social
stigmatization, fear of rejection by family and community, loss of a desired
heterosexual identity and family, and fear of religious or social condemnation.

Indian laws prohibit discriminating
against patients because of their sexual orientation. This is testified by the
historical decision taken by Apex law making body of the Country by allowing
the Freedom of Sexual expression. However, what use is this freedom for?
Freedom of living freely, liberty are still exploited in India unlike western
countries. Sexual preference is biological and in India, the law still does not
permit same sex couples to adopt a child.

Hence, the same sex people want to
change their sexual orientation. The ethical issue relates to therapies for
changing sexual orientation. Are they effective? Can they cause harm? Currently,
several groups claim to have success at changing sexual orientation or at
changing sex. For example, Gaurav Arora, a famous contestant on MTV Splits
villa transformed into a woman. The ethical issues raised are confidentiality
against a duty to warn a known individual at risk.

One of the main inputs for the
rights of LGBT people is the constitution of India and the legal rights which
they have. Then comes the ethical, moral and spiritual part. Hence, for the
input phase, it is important to know about the laws and the section 377 which
is still not being scrapped. The battle is going on for equal rights and space
in society. Would it be fruitful? This only the coming few years and government
would tell. As of now, Section 377 which is “carnal intercourse against the
order of nature”. It has been inferred by Indian courts to be in contradiction
of homosexual acts amongst men. As many LGBT advocates have pointed out, it is
very difficult to prove in a court of law that certain sexual acts have been
committed, but the very existence of this law in the law books has been used as
a tool for extortion and persecution- primarily against gay and bisexual men. However,
the Supreme Court of India has accepted a curative petition seeking a review of
the law.

Since data is the new oil, talking
about a few statistics of LGBT concerns in India-

It
has been estimated that around 4 million Hijra’s, with
communities recorded back more than 4,000 years are present in India

Maximum
number of eunuchs found in Uttar Pradesh state of India
with around 5% of the total percentage of state
population

Number
of them found in Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Bihar, Rajasthan and Delhi are5%,
11.0%, 6.0%, 6.5%, 4.5% and 2.0% of the total percentage of state
population respectively.

What society perceives of an
individual leaves a deep impact on one’s sexual freedom and expression. Another
study by Dominic Parrott and john Peterson named “what motivates hate
crimes based on sexual orientation? Mediating effects of anger
on anti-gay hostility.” In which 135 heterosexual male
participants were interviewed to assess sexual predisposition, fury in response
to a vignette depicting a non-erotic male. It was found that peer dynamics was
a leading cause in anger towards homosexuals.

Process-

What is the process in society through
which a person is discriminated against? Is belonging to a LGBT community
shameful? Among the noteworthy findings, results suggest that higher LGB
self-esteem scores and openness about sexual orientation correlated with higher
levels of spirituality. Added, attraction to same sex partners was associated
with perceiving sexual orientation as a choice, identifying as bisexual at a
younger age, more likely to reveal one’s sexual orientation, less likely to
view religion as being socially important, and a higher score on the belief
statement.
