In the world today we use and have learned many different things from the past and the Greek god life. From supernaturals to different life equations everyone in this world can make and will be able to make many different connections to their own personal life.
The world is run by upcoming technology and different life changes we make. The connections I have made after doing my research are all ideas that came from sports. How are cheaters the same now and back then? What stages have we taken to improve the technology in stadiums/arenas? My last thing I am going to compare is the way a team is composed and how each team fights for one another comparing it to war. There are many different things inspirits today and back then that are the same but I chose to do these three things. Team Sports are just like war, you pick your side and fight with your teammates to succeed, and come out on top. In order to join a side of an army, members must promise to remain loyal in a renunciation (list eight) against all other teams .
.In books 21 and 22 in the Odyssey, it explains the fight, Telemachus sets up the axes and then tries his own hand at the bow, but fails in his attempt to string it. Telemachus gets shields for his side, they end up killing several people. There were murders, war, battles, in the greek time just like today. In the world team sports are like war, because you fight to win. Connor McGreggor is an UFC fighter. His company has another fighter who was in a fight in the octagon, in the hope to win his match.
In the sport UFC you win by submission,KO, or judges decision. He knocked out his opponent with brain injuries, causing him death. When going into the fight he was not planning to kill someone, but it is similar to war, because you want to be the last person standing. When in war or sports you can use enhancement drugs, like many did back in the day. When comparing enhancement drugs from time today to the greek mythology time period, they both used some type of drug to try and edge their performance on a new level. These enhancement items were purposed to be something for the positive, but has defects when taking them. The quote “Cheaters never win” has been a saying that I have heard my whole life, the first time I heard it was when I was a kid and one of my teachers brought up that saying, it has stayed with me throughout my life.
Ancient Olympians were no more or less moral than humans are today. The evidence of this quite literally begins with the Olympic Games. Every four years Greek men competed to prove who was best, swearing to Zeus they would not cheat. Many people from praise Zeus , so they do not praise other gods because they revere (list four) him as a sacred object. Anyone who disobeyed the rules were fined by the leaders. The money was spent to set up statues of Zeus, the patron god of the Games at Olympia. In addition to using bribes, other offenses included deliberately avoiding the training period at Olympia were not “steroids” back in the day but they used things to replaced performance drugs such as wine potions, hallucinations, and different types of meat.
Athletes also used fortune tellers and magicians in a way to get an edge to a game in the olympics. All this was considered “cheating” in the greek mythology time period. The history of anabolic steroids can be reached back to as early as 1930’s, before the term “steroid” was even used. The natural drug of the pill will soon inundate (list four) athletics careers with suspensions, and expulsions. Steroids, chemically related to testosterone, a male hormone that promotes muscle growth for positive reasons, to help treat men who were unable to produce enough of the hormone for normal growth, development, and sexual functioning. The sellers, usually say steroids are benign, (list 9) so many people take them. Eventually, during World War II it was found that this artificial form of testosterone could be used to help malnourished soldiers gain weight and improve performance. Since these athletes are so old, no one seems to find his puerile (list eight) behavior amusing.
Athletes learned from this and started using this. After learning that those athletes were using testosterone, an American physician created a more selective form of what we know as anabolic steroids. It is otiose (list eight) to take steroids when the athletes know there are negatives and drug tests. .There has been thousands of cheating incidents in sports these days.
“Doping” by professional athletes has been acknowledged as a problem since at least the 1960s. steroids, a drug that is commonly used by athletes who want to become bigger, faster, and stronger, in a short amount of time. These are illegal drugs that have been used for years. An olympian who used steroids in the Olympics is Lance Armstrong. Most of the fans saw the athlete as unimpeachable (list eight) and completely trusted his every word. The fans bullied Lance into being the scapegoat (list three) for the crime he committed. man used steroids for his bike races, when failing a drug test for steroids, he lost his medals, and lost all his miles he biked in the Olympics. Lance’s haughty (list 6) attitude made him an undesirable athlete.
Suffering through a long and brutal time, and season Lance did whatever he could to make a change, and people went out for some risible (list four) entertainment with him there. Although Lance received kudos (list four) from the steroids , the public hated the way he took part in illegal drugs. Punishments are easy to understand because of its pellucid (list three) style. Steroids are a drug that has been around for a while, and not hard to receive or get. As a result of being scarred by the iniquity (list three) of others, using steroid and drugs have decreased in the athletic/sport life.
When comparing enhancement drugs from time today to the greek mythology time period, they both used some type of drug to try and edge their performance on a new level. These enhancement items were purposed to be something for the positive, but has defects when taking them. At the end of the day, sport enhancement drugs, may reflect positive works, but there are more defects to them. Stadiums and arenas are built for structure, for fan favorites, and for the sport teams that are being built for. The stadium of Ancient Olympia was a holy place for the ancient Greek. The stadium was built in a way that spectators could view the events from the slopes of Mount Cronion .The stadium was slowly moved and eventually it was placed outside the temple of Zeus, the god of Olympics/sports.
. The ancient stadium also used to hold the Heraia Games, which were games for women, in honor of the goddess Hera. The stadium received its final form in the fifth century when the beautiful temple of Zeus was built. By then the Games had become very popular, bringing athletes and visitors on a common basis, so a new stadium was deemed necessary. We now have stadiums, that are just alike. The stadiums have similar ideas, are circular (dome shaped), have tracks, statues outside , but technology took an uprise. The stadium for olympic in 2012, had many features that were not instituted in greek mythology architecture. London Stadium is a stadium in Stratford, London, England, at Marshgate Lane in the Lower Lea Valley.
It was set up to serve as the home stadium for the 2012 Summer Olympics and Paralympics, hosting the track and field events including, the opening and closing stadiums. This stadium had seating for 57,000 people, with a capacity of 60,000. 80,000 capacity for concerts including free-flow between the field of play and lower tier. The longest cantilevered roof in the world Adjacent community track managed by our globally renowned grounds team, 35 outlets, 428 wheelchair viewing spaces 58 trains per and 20 bus routes. This stadium is so excellent for games because the frenetic tempo of the games really helps the athletes compete. Everyone enjoys seeing and listening to the athletes dulcet (list three) actions and moves, and singing before the activities such as the national anthem. There is many more inventions in future. The ancient time period and now have many things alike, but also different.
The olympic games have changed, the ay things are built have changed, and cheating is still popular today. In the future, comparing your everyday life, to greek god life can be helpful. Learning from how anabolic steroids were used, the way stadiums were built, and how cheaters went along in life, is a learning experience. I would have never thought that the Greek would use meat or wine to overturn their edge in games. I plan on learning more and more about Greek life this year.
