May 15, 2013 Hey Friend, I want to invite you to take a Journey with me.
If you haven’t heard already, I’m going to Kenya, Africa from August 16th – 31st! And if I can be honest with you about my emotions, I’m definitely nervous but even more so, I’m beyond excited to be a part of a real, live, daring missions outreach opportunity with the kids and people of Kenya! Some of you know my story of where Vive been & what Vive done. Matter of fact, a lot of you may have seen for yourselves or walked alongside me during the transformation that God has and is still working out inside of me.Going from a life of meaninglessness due to the lack of identity of who I was, to a life of purpose & love from an identity of who He is and who I am in Him.
Through that transformation God is working in me, an aching desire to see people’s lives changed through finding an identity in God has been growing more & more inside me. My hope is that not only would God add more fuel to that fire, but that I would be able to help the kids & people of Kenya find identity and hope in a place that doesn’t always call for one, Africa.I never dreamed or even would have dared to think that I would be going out in such a huge way as this. But God is doing something new in my life, moving things from my head to my heart & enlarging my heart to make them fit! He’s taking me outside of myself to partner with a wonderful group of other men & women to go & serve in whatever way is needed & for Just a few short weeks, be an ambassador of love, encouragement & good news for Jesus Christ. The main reason for going is to assist an organization called ELI – (Empowering Lives International) in putting together a week long camp for Kenya youth in Kippered (which is in western Kenya, not too far from the Uganda border).
I can do camps! Vive eared that Kenya love to play games and do crafts, which opens an avenue of opportunities not only to entertain the kids but to love on & build relationships with them. Some of us will also be leading and teaching seminars during the camp which will enable us to teach the kids who they are in Christ, & there is nothing I love to do more than study & teach God’s Word. First though, we will begin our trip in the Siberia slums of Nairobi, which is the capital of Kenya. There they say our hearts will be broken by the things we see and smell. No services are provided for these people by their government, including schooling school called the Joy Springs Charter School.
I know there are things I will see and experience that I will never be able to forget – things that will haunt me so that I pray for the poor and am motivated to do something to relieve the suffering. I know I’m going to make many new friends – and even be tempted to bring some kids home with me. I anticipate that it will be a life-changing experience – and even though you can’t go, I would like to make you as much a part of this trip as possible! You see, I believe that in God’s eyes, the “sender” receives the same credit as the errors going.I believe that you can have a part in what God is going to do in Kenya this summer. So, would you consider being a “sender” by contributing to the expenses of this outreach in one of the following ways: A donation (The trip is expensive, especially because we are helping to sponsor the camps) – Whatever is placed in your heart to help out whether $10, $25, $50 or perhaps more, would definitely be like the loaves and fishes of Mark 6:30-44. I know that Jesus can multiply to meet the need.
Your prayers – That God’s good purposes for this ministry would be accomplished.Your help – You might have some things I could borrow for the trip and also there are other ways you can help! I can get that information of how, if you’d like more to know more! Whatever you can do, it will be good – and I know God will honor it and you will receive your credit and due reward from the King Himself – because the Bible says that “the Lord will reward everyone for whatever good he does… ” (Pep.
6:8) Looking forward to partnering with you to touch lives in Kenya this summer! Sincerely, Claudia Jimenez -Email me if you’d like to help: [email protected] Com From me and our future friends in Kenya, Africa…
