New YorkUniversity is in sync with the heartbeat of one of the most dynamic cities. Ihope to match my beat with the cadence of the energetic environment of this university. Business is stronglyassociated with my family background and thus contributing to my interest inthe field. I am interested specifically in Finance because of its vastness and abilityto help me in running my family business and a potential start-up in future. Asa result of my upbringing, I am able to apply my knowledge to a wide range oftheories and understand the rationality behind various principles.
Theseinclude winning the stock exchange committee of Young Entrepreneurs Summit andraising approximately $12500 for CHIREC Model United Nations as Head ofSponsorships. The prospect of having the opportunity to study under the tutelage ofworld-renowned faculty excites me. I am particularly impressed by the paper ofProfessor Ashwini Agarwal on technological investment and labor outcomes. Ithas strongly motivated me to study corporate finance. NYU’s clubs and organizations highly appeal to me because of theirvastness in nature. I can’t wait to be one of the brothers in ‘Alpha Kappa Psi’ as it will allow meeting peers andprofessionals in the same field. Furthermore, I intendto study abroad through the International Studies Program because I believe itwill strengthen my personal and academic development.
I would specifically liketo go to Vietnam because of its difference in business culture, specificallythe stock exchange, than that of New York. Stern’slocation in the heart of New York City opens doors to multiple internshipopportunities. My previous internships as sales and marketing intern at VijayTravels and Dukes respectively gave me knowledge and exposure to aspects ofbusiness such as marketing of a product and product pricing. I am confidentthat I will be able to continue strengthening my resume and make connections. I havealways felt that learning should not be monotonous and fixed to just oneobjective. When I graduate from Stern, I will be a stronger, more mature and afiercely independent individual.
I will have a broader perspective about theworld and the people of different cultures, through the diverse student bodywhom I will soon call family. I look ahead with anxious anticipation, tofulfilling four years of my student life at Stern Business School of New YorkUniversity.
