The Health Care Program in the United States

There are many things that the United States should change about their health care plans/programs.

It is very unfortunate that money comes before the health of the client. Many times in this country you will find a family, who is considered of the average middle class, who is covered by an insurance company but they are not covered enough to save their child by providing money for a heart transplant surgery. But why doesn’t the insurance company pay for it? If is because they do not want to pay up the money the client has paid them to save.If money wasn’t such an important thing a lot more people could afford health insurance and this is where the problem begins, pricing. Who labels the prices on these surgeries? Why does an appendix surgery cost more or less than a knee surgery? The solution could be to set one price for all major surgeries for example, knee surgeries and organ transplants. It is pretty ridiculous for doctors to make a profit off of a surgery especially when they get paid for doing it later.

The reason why insurance companies deny coverage to certain thins is because of the money so the best way is to make it affordable to the company. It is very well known that universal health care would not work in the United States. Too many people would say that the United States should not provide everything. Well, those are the people who don’t have to let anyone provide for them. It is very difficult to understand why insurance companies will cover expensive surgeries for rich people but to those who cannot afford it they deny coverage. If the United States cannot cover all health care than maybe equal full coverage should be an option.

In a hypothetical situation, a person might think to them self “why should I pay for another man’s surgery?” In case of war, why should that same man die for your freedom? If everyone is covered equally and paid the same amount of money than all the children in the Unites States who did not have heart transplant could pay for the three children who did. A major problem with medical service today is the amount of time a doctor spends with his/her patient. How does a doctor make a thorough examination in less than five minutes? If insurance companies covered the use of holistic medicine than it is possible that malpractice could be minimized or even eliminated. It is understandable that doctors have many patients but it is still one life at a time. By covering holistic medicine insurance companies would probably even save money instead of paying chunks of money at a time. If a doctor spends more than enough time with a patient then he/she might be able to catch or prevent something before it gets worse. By preventing this problem than insurance companies will not have to pay so much money compared to how much they would pay if they condition was not caught in time.If all else fails and companies still have a problem with covering people in need of surgery, than as a law of the government an American person should be allowed a certain amount of free surgeries per year.

The payment for those surgeries should be taken from the surplus amount of money the government receives from our taxes. Sometimes this country spends money on things that are not as important as the health its people. Many times the United States is to busy concerning itself with the well being of people who do not live in this country.I do not disagree with helping them, but there is still negligence over the American people. The United States sends medicines and free food to nations before it helps its own people. A stronger nation can help more people.

There are many possible solutions to help ease the pain of paying for expensive surgeries, but the only way to do so is focus on the patient not by how much money is in his/her account but by how needed his/her surgery. The government helps with payment of medicines but they seem to forget about the cost of operations and procedures. So far money has corrupted our government, legal system and other places but the hospital cannot go under that category. Though a hospital can be viewed as a place of business it is not. Yes, the doctors do get paid for their services but they should not be paid by how many major surgeries they did or how many surgeries they helped the insurance company avoid. Health is not something bought at a department store it is something that should be attended and taken care of.

If this country wants go to war, or have a successful county it first has to make sure that its people are healthy and able at all costs.
