u Inthis PowerPoint I am going to be explaining how security keeps the systemsecure. This is important because having security will protect your system andyour personal files. The types of security there is are:u PhysicalSecurity- this is security which can protect the system from theft, vandalismor accidental damage. The types of physical security that can secure the systemfrom physical access are locks, visitors pass, sign in/out systems, biometrics, security guards and cable shielding.u SoftwareSecurity- this secures the system from hackers, viruses and other forms ofmalware. To protect your systems from this you can protect it by installing afirewall configuration, virus checking software or use of virtual privatenetworks (VPN). Furthermore, you can add in passwords, levels of access dataand updating your software.u Locksare the easiest way to secure doors this is because it will preventunauthorized access into a building or room.
u Thiswill keep the system secure because if you want to a have access to the areayou will need to require a key or key card which should unlock the door. If youdon’t have these, you will have to ask permission from a person who has accessto the area.u Theseare passes which are given to visitors by a company, but it is only temporaryaccess.
Or they will have to wear a badge so it could show employees that theyare visitors.u Thissecures the system as it is temporary which means that they won’t access to thebuilding forever as they don’t work there.u Thisis utilized to monitor when workers of a company enter in or out of thepremises. It is normally used with a key card which has to be tapped every timean employer’s goes in or out.
u Thiswill protect the system because if something got stolen or damaged and tofigure out who done it, they will just have to check the last person whoentered the room.u Thisis used to identify someone’s eye colour; this is because everyone has theirown eye colour.u Thiscan help secure a system as no one has the same eye colour as you, which meansthe only way they can enter the premises is with you eye. This is mostly usedagainst thieves from taking information or data from a system.u Theseare scanners which use a rapid laser to identify the ridges in our fingers.
Sothat the person with their fingerprint in the system will only be able toaccess the premises.u Thisis used to keep systems secure because people will have to have theirfingerprints scanned into system so that they can gain access the room orbuilding.u Thisis security which can only be accessed by someone’s voice. Everyone has adifferent voice; therefore, it will be hard for unauthorized people to access aroom.u Thissecures the system because even if you try mimic the voice, you’ll still failas it identifies the vibration or sound waves your voice makes.
u Thisis when you have one or more humans to protect your system or area. You caneven have guard dogs as well. This will secure you system as the security guards willtackle or restrain anyone who no access to the system. Or if it was guard dogsthey will bark to alert the guards or even bite the person with unauthorizedaccess u These are used to protectcables from electromagnetic interferences or to stop stuff such as wiretappingbecause it could be read by people as they identify the magnetic field producedby the cables.u Thissecures the system as it disables people from interfering with the transfer ofinformation or if they try to collect data.u Thefirewall acts like a protective barrier around computers which are connected toa network and it also controls what comes in the computer system.
But if thefirewall is turned off then the computer will be vulnerable to viruses as itwill be loaded into the computer within minutes and without the user knowing.
