It’s always a ‘home run’ for me when I play baseball. The bat has always been my defense from the obstacles in pursuing my dreams and the ball that has pitched has been my inspiration to go out and do the home run. I run as fast as I could just to catch my happiness, and I see it coming to me, through this University.Since I was six years old, I’ve been playing the baseball.
Even in high school, I joined the team to enhance my skills and for that I’ve became the rookie of the year in 2004. I am also proud to say that I have made it to the 2006 USA Olympic Baseball Team. And because of this great accomplishment, I have voted by the St. Peter Times as the Player of the Year in 2007.
Basically, I am 6’2” tall, a lefty pitcher and can do a pick-off move over the first base. I am willing to challenge myself by facing the trainings and by doing my best to contribute to the team. I am also eager to know my limitations and to enhance my strengths in order to give the best shot that I can make. I know that this will be a new good experience for me, and may I say, that I am excited to live through a new chapter in my life in this University.
Baseball is my life but I know that education, still, is the best foundation for a good future. The excellence in academic is also in my priority and I know that I can achieve more of it in this University. The school will help me a lot to prepare myself to face different adversities of life, just like the gator, itself.I may not be the next Brad Wilkerson who will stand out and help the country to have its next gold medal, but I wish to follow his steps and make the University of Florida be proud, once again.
If given a chance, my capabilities will exert more effort to contribute to the team and to be one of the prides of the University. For the love of the game, I can continue what I have started since I was a child and willing to expand my capabilities, strengthen my weaknesses and live through it as long as I can.ReferencesUniversity Athletic Association, Inc., and and Clear Channel Broadcasting. “University of Florida.
