This health course has made me realize that I need to take better care of myself so I can be healthier person. Developing a wellness plan and implementing it has made me realize that by taking small steps and setting realistic goals, I can be healthier and a more physically fit person. With all this information, I have been able to come up with my own healthy life plan for the next five years. I have decided to keep up with the small dietary changes I began on August 22, 2002 and add some other steps to that plan. I have also decided to add an exercise plan to go along with the dietary modifications.
From past experience I have realized that with out any exercise that I wont be able to reach my weight loss goals. This is why I need to implement some type of exercise in my healthy life plan. In Feb 2000 I decided to cut soda out and switched to water instead. I also tried not to eat past 6 p. m. and dramatically decreased my fast food consumption. I also joined a gym in Clarksville. With the help of a trainer we started a exercise program that was right for me and my body. I worked with this trainer after work, Monday – Friday for 1-2 hours a day. I did cardio work out first then I did free weights.
I worked out different areas on the body different days and I worked my abdominal area and lower back everyday. I also did cardio everyday. I worked out and kept up with my dietary modifications until May 2000 then I began a summer job that prevented me to continue going to the gym after work. Between Feb and May I lost 30lbs and I went from a size 14 to an 8. Now here we are in Oct. 2002 and I am back up to a size 12 and the same weight as before. I have not exercised since then and I started my wellness plan in August in hopes to get back on track and loss the weight.
